Elif Karakışla
Our CEO, Elif Karakışla, is an entrepreneur at heart and a hard-working young mother. She graduated Boğaziçi University Business Department and worked with major companies. After 10 years of experience in Pamukbank Marketing Department and as Hürriyet Advertising Department, she decided that she was ready to begin creating the brand she dreamed. In 2008, she founded Melissima, in a small apartment with the slogan; “a care as comfortable as your home.”
By the 15th anniversary of Melissima, her brand became a company that can deliver to anywhere locally and globally with three different branches. In this timeline she also served as business development director in BNI, and she moderated “7 Expert” show in Business Channel.
Barbaros Karakışla
Our vice chairman of the board, Barbaros Karakışla finished his high school education in Robert College and completed his major in Boğaziçi University business department.
He first started his career in transportation industry. In 1986 he started his career in banking. For 10 years, he continued his career in corporate banking. In 1995, he started his personal banking career as a founding board member. He worked with prestigious banks such as, Citibank, Interbank, TEB, Akbank and Denizbank, leading as assistant general manager. He also worked in Deutsche Bank as regional manager. After working for four years in Abu Dhabi as senior manager, he finished his professional banking career. Now, he seeks to share his experience, as he takes on a new challenge in the form of Melissima board of directors.
